Paquete "Mosquito" 2 Days / 1 Night

Day 01

Transport to the habour. Approximately two hours ride through the Amazon River by speedboat. Arrival at the Chullachaqui Lodge, 97 km away from Iquitos. The Lodge is constructed of local materials as far as possible. Rooms with private bathrooms. After the arrival you will be shown the site and its facilities. Lunch. Hiking-trip through the jungle, medical-plant lesson, giant trees amongst others. Dinner. Night-time hiking trip. Sounds of the jungle at night, spotting insects and amphibians in their natural environment.

Day 02

Early in the morning canoe – trip to spot different kinds of birds living in this area. General ornithology – knowledge. You will get the chance to take many pictures of the foraging. Return to the Lodge. After breakfast we will ride through the Amazon on a little boat. Normally it is possible to spot pink and grey river dolphins at the other waterside. Lunch. Little time to relax and after that return journey to Iquitos. Ride to the hotel or airport. End of our services.

DAY 01

In the early morning canoe trip to spot different kinds of local birds. General ornithology – knowledge. You will get the chance to take many pictures of the foraging. Coming back to the lodge. After breakfast trip to the Amazon on a little boat. On the other side of the Amazon you will normally get the chance to see the pink and grey river dolphins. After lunch we will go on a hiking trip. We will try to spot sloths and iguanas which live in great numbers in this area. Later we will go on a trip through the jungle at night to look for young caimans.

After breakfast we will visit a little Amazonian village to get an impression of the culture and today lifestyle of the Amazonia- inhabitants. Private agriculture and trading papaya, banana, manioc and other typical products of the region. Return to the Lodge and soon after lunch departure to Iquitos. Transport to the hotel or airport. End.

On our way back to the Lodge we will see the Amazonian sunset. After dinner our guides will amuse you by playing guitar and singing songs about the myths and legends of Amazonia.

Day 04

Breakfast. Today we will go to a lake to see the biodiversity of the local fauna and flora. The highlight will be the piranha fishing with simple fishing rods. (Optional) Lunch at the lake. Return to the Lodge and later departure to Iquitos. Transport to the hotel or airport. End of our services.

Short city tour –Tribal War memorial- Boardwalk- Museum –Artisan market-Native community. Once collected from your hotel we will star our tour of the main attractions of Iquitos, a city founded in the 18th century and which experienced its main Boom in the era of Rubber exploitation in the 19th century. We begin by visiting the War Memorial, or Plaza de Armas which lies in the city’s centre, taking in the beautiful titles and balconies brought from Europe to adorn the striking buildings and homes which once housed the rich and prosperous of the capital city of the Peruvian Amazon Jungle.

 

You will be able to see the famous “Iron House” designed by Gustavo Eiffel and learn the interesting story of the structure which now sits in the Plaza de Armas.


We continue on to the riverside boardwalk, the Malecon, whose impressive view of the jungle fascinates visitors and local alike. We will also visit the regional museum with its exclusive exhibitions of the Amazon Ethnic groups.

On the way to the museum from the Malecon we will pass through an artisan market which sits on wooden stilts, where one can admire and by people and communities of Iquitos and Jungle. From Nanay we will embark on a journey by boat to visit a native tribal community.

flechaThis can be organized with you and your guide; the price of lunch is not covered. Taking public transport by boat we will arrive at one of tributaries of the Nanay River, the Momon River, which will take us to visit the Boras or Yaguas.

 

FlechaThe inhabitants of the chosen village will give a demonstration of their traditional life and culture. You will also be able to learn or be taught, the ancient dances and how to use a traditional hunting weapon. After this brings you to the end of your day’s tour. From Belen we move on to Quistococha Zoo which is found some 10 km up the highway. There you will see animals not often seen in the inhabited jungle, but deep in its interior. Within the complex there is a natural lake with a beautiful white sand beach where you can swim relax and enjoy this natural paradise.

 

Lunch can also be eaten in the park where you can try local delights or you may decide to wait and take there your meal at our next stop in the port of Bella - Vista Nanay. From Nanay we will embark on a journey by boat to visit a native tribal community. This can be organized with you and your guide; the price of lunch is not covered.

City Tour "Nauta" 10 Hour aprox.

 

 

Beginning in the morning we will make our way to the bus terminal, there we will travel from Iquitos to the city of Nauta in bus or private car, once the necessary lumber of passengers arrives.


Arriving in the city of Nauta, we will visit the Plaza de Armas (War Memorial) where your guide will give you a briefing on the history of the city, its habitants and founders. Nauta is the oldest city in the region of Loreto, as well as the being the only city which is connected to Iquitos by highway.


Later we will visit the Sapi Sapi Laguna in order to view and appreciate the beauty of some local tortoise and fish species which are part of a conservation project by the local municipality and citizens of the area.

 

Together we will lunch at a well known local restaurant where one can sample some of the delicious local cuisine.

 

Following lunch we will make our way to the area of Grau. Embarking on a typical boat you will pass through the beautiful panorama of the Amazon jungle. Disembarking in Grau we will take a brief tour of the area and then continue on to the Grau-lookout where we will observe the joining of two Majors Rivers into the Grand Amazon; Ucayali River and the Marañon


Returning to the city of Nauta we will make our way back down the Iquitos _ Nauta Highway and its 100 km to Iquitos, arriving at the bus terminal where we will accompany you back to your hotel. End of our service.
