The climate is humid-warm with temperatures between 17 and 36 C° and a humidity of 84 %. The city was founded by a Jesuit priest in 1754. throughout its history Iquitos was the home of different ethnical tribes (for example: Iquitos, Huitotos, Cocamas, Yaguas) who lived basically from hunting and fishing.
